How do I know what God’s will is for me? How do I discern if it is actually God’s will or mine? What am I being called to be or do or make? How confident am I that it is God speaking to me – or is it my ego? Is it okay to ask for a sign from God?
I will be addressing these questions this Sunday and what I do to discern whether it’s God calling or me running the show.
Join us this Sunday as our own Ellen MacQueen guest speaks for us. She is a retired Licensed Clinical Social Worker who worked with people in many settings. She had a private counseling practice, was involved in services for children, hospitals, hospice, and was on a team of medical professionals delivering care in patients’ homes. She enjoys reading, time with family and friends, walking, yoga, and spending time in nature. Trips to the mountains feed her soul.
I decided to speak about listening because it is a much underappreciated aspect of our daily interactions with others. I continue to learn the value of really listening to others, listening to my inner guidance, and listening to nature. Even though I can’t always achieve my desires around this, I understand that listening and speaking from our hearts is an amazing gift to ourselves and others.
Twelve years ago, Amanda first walked through the doors at Unity and felt right at home. And this Sunday she is fulfilling a long-held dream of sharing a message with some of the same people that welcomed her that day. This talk is about a couple of words in Unity Principle #3, and how this concept has helped her in her new journey into motherhood. Hopefully it can help you too.
Amanda is a proud Fort Collins native, and was lucky to grow up splashing in the fountains of Old Town. She’s now beginning her own family here and is so thrilled to be introducing her daughter to Unity at such a young age. Amanda’s passions include art, spirituality, and community building. She has worked for the past 3 years as a public speaking coach, helping leaders spread their message powerfully.
Join us to listen to our own Julie Legg this Sunday. From Julie:
“Lately I’ve been doing quite a lot of reading by and about Myrtle and Charles Fillmore, the co-founders of the Unity School of Practical Christianity. There is much to digest, and I’ll be sharing some of what I’ve read and how it relates to my life and possibly to the lives of others.”
As an ordained Interfaith/Interspiritual Minister, Rev. Julieis available to serve your spiritual needs for weddings, funerals, baby & pet blessings, and spiritual counseling. She has been at Unity of Fort Collins for many years, is based in Windsor, CO, and is available to persons throughout Northern Colorado and the Denver area.
“Stop trying so hard to know that everything is as it should be. Just rest your mind and heart and emotions and body in God-Mind.”
