“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” ~ Harold Whitman

Co-Creating Heaven.

October 11, 2018

The 5th Unity Principle says it is not enough for us to know the principles; we must live the truth of the principles. As you know, I love to write and re-write things in my own words. Here is my current wording of these principles:

  • The Spirit of Life is Good – and it is present everywhere.
  • We are all children of this Spirit, so we are all inherently good.
  • We co-create our lives through our attention, our intention, and our action.
  • Prayer empowers us by keeping us connected with our Source.

However we word these principles or our core spiritual beliefs, the underlying challenge to each of us is to practice them in our daily lives.

Ellen Debenport in Unity’s Five Principles asks,

“…How do we apply these principles when we’re sick, broke, heartbroken, scared, angry or apathetic? How do we make choices, day in and day out, in alignment with principle, so that we can – bit by bit – create the kingdom of heaven on earth?”

To me that’s what the 5th principle is all about. The “kingdom of heaven” begins now. But we have to take some responsibility in building it.

Hope to see you Sunday for some heaven on earth together!

Love, Peggy

PS – Happy Birthday to Eleanor Roosevelt! What a strong and powerful light she brought to this life. Here are a couple of her more well-known quotes for reflection:

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.

No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.

People grow through experience if they meet life honestly and         courageously. This is how character is built.
