This Labor Day Sunday, Franklin and I are going to do the talk together. We are looking at the topic of Labor.
Franklin will be referring to a book by Lewis Hyde called, “The Gift,” that frames labor as something besides toil.
Labor is more than showing up to work every day. Labor is the act of bringing forth. We do this when we create – whether that is a masterpiece, a lunch, a clean environment, or a song. We do this when we bring forth a new human being or a new solution to a problem.
Most of all, our labor is the act of bearing Love and of bringing our true self into what we do.
Rumi said, “Let the beauty of what you love be what you do.”
If we don’t get to see you Sunday, we wish you joy and rejuvenation wherever you are!
