“Personal Progress for the Greatest Number Depends Upon Unity”

January 24, 2019

These past two weeks I have spoken about the topics of “Calling” and “Trusting the Process.” It was in that context that I shared my plans to complete my time as your Spiritual Leader. Over the next few months, we will gradually phase out my responsibilities and enter into a transition process to search for the next right Spiritual Leader for Unity of Fort Collins.

The Council will be working with a transition consultant from Worldwide Unity, who has experience and special training in helping congregations go through mindful, loving transitions. You will receive regular updates as we go through this process together, and everyone will have plenty of opportunity to participate.

If you missed last Sunday’s talk (January 20th), I invite you to listen to the podcast so that you can hear more about it. Jesse and I plan to move back to the land where I grew up – in southeastern Arizona – and live near my mom. We will be back and forth on a regular basis, as well as staying connected through technology and social media. While I will be ending my role as Spiritual Leader, I will always be available as a Spiritual Friend.

I have absolutely loved my time with you, and I have learned so very much. As you have heard me say many times, there is an incredible abundance of wisdom in this congregation. I have complete confidence that this wisdom, along with the loving community you have developed with each other, will carry us all through the coming process with grace and ease. And whenever the new leader comes along, they are going to be incredibly fortunate!

This Sunday my topic is Unity. I will refer to a 12-step principle which says, “Our common welfare should come first. Personal progress for the greatest number depends upon unity.”  I love you all so much!

In Gratitude and Trust,
Peggy
