About the event
Elephant Gardens will transform its approximately 25,000 square feet of underused Community Garden green space behind into a vibrant, multigenerational community hub where nature, mindfulness, and education intersect. Rooted in permaculture design principles and a philosophy of mindful community stewardship, the garden will serve as a bilingual, accessible space where residents of all ages can learn, connect, and grow.
The garden will include accessible raised beds for seniors and participants with limited mobility, permaculture food forests that blend native and edible species, and pollinator zones featuring wildflowers, shrubs, and habitat structures. Meandering mindfulness paths will guide visitors through shaded gathering areas; while composting and soil-building stations will offer opportunities for hands-on ecological learning. Completion is expected by December 31.
Please RSVP if staying for potluck lunch.
