History of New Thought and Unity

When I think about the power of the mind to heal, my most powerful experience was healing from twenty years with a progressive disabling neurological movement disorder that included progressing autonomic nervous system failure. I had grown very sick and was giving up. I would learn years later that some of my doctors didn’t think I had long to live. Then my eye muscles began failing. I was sent to a university hospital where at last a doctor diagnosed me and gave me medicine (Parkinson’s medicine).

The medicine and physical rehab gave me back my movement, my balance, and my autonomic nervous system function. I had to take a lot of medicine and knew that the medicine might not work for long. Every day the medicine worked was precious. I still used a cane, and I still couldn’t read.

Then my son died. I instantly let go of many of what Quimbe would call “errors of belief”. I thought that if my son suffered so much that he took his life, so much of what I believed in could not be true. Then my son’s spirit arrived and connected me directly to my highest self and the Infinite Mind. With life force (divine) energy flowing freely through my being, I healed. Today I need very little medicine, no cane and I can read (not normally but well enough). To heal, I needed western medicine, the morphing of my belief system, my son's spirit, and the "Grace Field" (the Infinite Mind). I am so grateful.
