A Love Revolution

In looking at the fundamental concepts found in Unity, I would be remiss in not explaining New Thought. Unity, a prayer and publishing ministry found by Charles and Myrtle Fillmore in Kansas City was never intended to be a denomination with hundreds of churches. Neither was Religious Science founded by Ernest Holmes in Los Angeles or Divine Science founded by Melina Cramer in Denver. But all had similar philosophies, and all are defined by the name New Thought, although the thoughts are not new. They can be traced back to several early philosophers from even the earlies days of Greek thought, such as Socrates and Philo.
In my experience, the New Thought tradition acknowledges and inspires us to come and explore spirituality. This is a heart-centered journey of endless self-discovery. No matter what issues we hope to resolve, our objective with this spirituality isn't to expand awareness with force, effort, or exhaustion. As you said "yes" to the invitation to be part of this Unity community, we understand that in a universe of endless questions, love is the answer. And love is that central part of our beingness because love is the essence of spirituality.
To open your heart, practice vulnerability and emotional receptiveness by allowing yourself to feel emotions, cultivating empathy for others, and nurturing self-love.
Engage in practices like gratitude, kindness, and forgiveness to dissolve emotional barriers.
Creative activities, mindfulness, spending time in nature, and connecting with music or art can also help to open your heart to more positive experiences and deeper connections.
This way is not a matter of becoming more aware, but rather of learning how to be open and accepting what we already are. This spiritual journey is a transition from "fearing it all" to "feeling it all." There is the courage to face the experiences that may have overwhelmed us in the past, but we now have divinely inspired methods available to us. They are only seven words, and they reveal that the open heart is the source of refuge.
These words are: Whatever arises within me, I love that. In the words of Byron Katie, love what is. You do not have to wait for your heart to open in order to love. Just open your heart and love what is.
Whether you were born at this time in this place to be on a journey to resolve a healing crisis, to discover true joy and fulfillment, or to make peace with the past, it is your time to shine as never before and to see how far your angel wings are destined to spread.
We, in Unity, welcome you to reveal that which has always existed within you. As this reality dawns, there is a timeless truth: love is always here.
· In every breath you take, love is always here.
· Throughout every personal encounter, love is always here.
· No matter what comes together or whatever is pulled apart, love is always here.
· In your greatest moment of achievement or even in your darkest hour of uncertainty, love is always here.
· Whether in the aftermath of tragedy or in the presence of your highest triumph, love is always here.
· When life is flowing, inspired, and harmonious, and even if it's frustrating, painful, or inconvenient, love is always here.
· When you feel alone or unsupported, love is always here.
· No matter what you understand and despite what you have yet to figure out, love is always here.
· Despite your thoughts, regardless of what you choose, or how you feel, love is always here.
· No matter what has been done to you or whatever you believe you've done to others, love is always here.
In a heart-centered revolution, you come to realize that underneath it all, love is what you are and all you've ever wanted.
In the most practical and approachable way, we in Unity assist you in opening your heart to release each worry, dissolve every limitation, and raise the vibration of the planet.
By loving what is, we set aside tendencies to oppose, to deny, to avoid, or to fight with the inevitability of life or anything in life. Fighting and opposing creates negative energy. Negative energy never heals.
Even when we cannot forgive, or whatever we are unable to love for whatever reason, we have an abundance of love in our heart.
In celebration of our true nature, love doesn't ask us to accept what cannot be accepted; it simply says, "Just embrace your own heart, and your heart will accept everything on your behalf." It does not ask us to forgive what is unforgivable, but simply says, "Just embrace your own heart, and your heart will forgive on your behalf." It doesn't even ask us to love what cannot be loved. Instead, it simply says, "Just embrace your own heart, and it will love on your behalf."
No matter the circumstance at hand, love ensures that everything is done through you, instead of by you. By embracing yourself more than anyone has ever embraced you, you will find the parent you've never met, the best friend you never knew you had, and the lover who has been there all along. By making your own heart the object of your affection, you invite others to be seen beyond what they were imagined to be by you. With love as your guide, the uniqueness of everyone and everything can be appreciated, without the pain of separating yourself from others.
I invite you to take this moment to celebrate Unity and to join us in a love revolution. Whether you wish to speak some words out loud with me or silently to yourself, please repeat the following healing affirmation:
· When I'm sad, I have love in my heart.
· When I'm angry, I have love in my heart.
· When I'm frustrated, I have love in my heart.
· Whenever I'm hurt, heartbroken, ashamed, or feeling guilty, I have love in my heart.
· Even when I'm embarrassed by my actions, I have love in my heart.
· Equally so, when I'm proud of myself, I have love in my heart.
· No matter how I feel, I have love in my heart.
· Despite what I think, I have love in my heart.
· No matter the past that I've survived, I have love in my heart.
· No matter what remains up ahead, I have love in my heart.
· On my worst day, I have love in my heart.
· Even when life seems cruel and confusing, I have love in my heart.
· When no one is here to give me what I need, I have love in my heart.
· In remembering the greatest way I can serve the world, I have enough love not less.
This invitation to love is never limited by any belief or by any role you happen to play. It is an invitation to merge back into the light of your divinity by remembering those words:
Whatever arises within me, I love that!
Through a willingness to be love, you are able to remember the spiritual reason why circumstances occur. Every moment is uniquely created by the Universe to ensure your highest good and your highest growth. The fact that you experience discomfort is evidence of how you are expanding spiritually. To make your adventure as rewarding and joyful as possible, we have been brought together as a Unity community to remember how exciting change can be once our heart has been given permission to open.
As you make peace with anything that arises it allows you to view life through the eyes of the Universe instead of feeling stuck as a lonely forgotten person within it. No matter what seems to trigger you, each reaction represents the release of mental debris collected from lifetimes of experiences. When your heart is open, you are able to notice that anything you are feeling is part of a healing taking place within you.
Whatever arises within me, I love
