Module 2
I was raised Presbyterian. I remember around 12 years of age I was put in a confirmation class to learn what I was supposed to officially believe so I could later on affirm my faith. So right there is a difference because in NT we are not told what to believe - we get to come to our own understanding. I also remember being taught a lot of rules about what was the right way to act and think and the wrong ways. Right vs wrong was very big to get straight, but it mostly felt like a tool so you could learn how to judge yourself and others. I didn't have a sense of how the rules would make me feel better and do better, as opposed to the teachings of NT that are very inspiring and lead me to naturally experience and express more and more my divine nature.
Hi Laura, Right and wrong and endless rules do lead to judgment don't they? How different it is to have rules come from outside of us, versus rules that come from within us. From within, they are are truths we find, that guide us. Not rules to be blindly followed.
